Known for its enchanting flavors and aromatic spices, Thai House Cuisine brings the vibrant tastes of Thailand to the heart of Kingston.
As a food reviewer at Foodjoyy, I've had the pleasure of exploring their diverse menu. One standout of the appetizer selection is the Sticky Rice with Peanut Sauce, priced at A$5.50. This dish captures the essence of Thai street food and serves as a perfect starter. The Spring Rolls, deep-fried to golden perfection and stuffed with a delightful mixture of cabbage, carrot, black mushroom, and glass noodles, are another highlight. Served with a homemade sweet and sour sauce, they embody the balance of flavors that Thai cuisine is celebrated for, coming in at A$7.00.
As we transition to the grill offerings, the menu continues to impress. The B.B.Q Chicken, Pork, and Beef, all marinated to perfection and grilled, each priced around A$19.00 to A$20.00, showcase excellent marination, resulting in juicy meats complemented beautifully by the sweet and sour sauce. Each bite is a testament to the careful crafting of flavors that Thai House Cuisine Kingston has mastered.
For fish lovers, there are remarkable options like the Tamarind Fish and Sweet Chilli Fish, both featuring deep-fried salmon fillets dressed in an array of impressive sauces, ensuring a delightful dive into the savory waters of Thai gastronomy. Priced at A$25.00, these dishes allow you to explore the intricate balance of sweet, spicy, and tangy flavors that characterize Thai recipes.

“ I had the lunch special here and was pleasantly surprised at the amount and quality of food they give you for the cost. I got the cashew chicken, which was 14.50. It came with a generous portion of steamed rice with chicken, cashews and veggies. It also came with a spring roll and hot & sour soup. Everything on the plate was quite good. The service was very quick as well. I would definitely recommend this place for a satisfying lunch! (Picture is the green curry chicken because I went back lol) ”
“ The food was amazing! My partner and I had the chicken satay for an appetizer, the peanut sauce was very flavourful, and the acar was the perfect pairing. I had the shrimp green curry, and my partner had the pineapple chicken curry. Both were extremely delicious! We were able to get some diced red peppers to up the heat to each of our respective likings. We did make a reservation here, and we're seated in the window, which was special and added to the already warm and inviting atmosphere. I would highly recommend eating here. ”
“ Excellent food and friendly customer service. They had vegetarian options which we relished a lot. We ordered spring rolls, mango salad, Green Thai curry with vegetables n tofu, Yellow Thai curry with vegetables n tofu and iced tea. Everything was so delicious. And the wait time was not bad too. ”
“ Good food, friendly service - we will be back again! ”
“ Came across this place by chance when we were looking for a vegan friendly restaurant and it turned out to be a good find. We went for lunch so it wasn't too busy, although there was a party of 11 and a couple of parties of 4. There was only 1 server but she was efficient and knowledgeable, offering information on the menu items as needed. I chose the House Pad Thai (chicken and shrimp) and my friends chose the Red Curry (with vegetables and tofu) and Thick Curry (with shrimp) All 3 dishes had generous portions, we were full before we could finish our meals. The pad thai was delicious, but I tried my friend's dishes and the red curry stood out the most. It had the perfect blend of flavours, and with the heaping serving of vegetables and tofu, was very satisfying. ”
“ This place offers the real taste of traditional Thai food and great service. ”
“ We had dinner here in August 2024 and again 2 nights later. Update after 2nd visit: Order the curry! The chefs special Beef Tamarind and the thick curry is just amazing!!! I liked this restaurant and so did my other half. I originally gave it 4 stars just because it didn't "wow" me but it is definitely worth a visit. And the 2nd visit changed everything. The restaurant: the place is cozy and the bathrooms clean. Right in the middle of everything it's easy to find and park. The staff: they were very nice and even offered us tourist tips. The food: i had the pad see u with beef. It was good but it felt like it was reheated and needed more sauce, not the best i had. The spring rolls were fresh and delicious (i could have eaten them as a main dish). My other half had the red bean curry and she said it was some of the best she ever had. I tasted it and it was delicious. Just enough heat (we don't eat spicy) and a very generous portion. I had the lychee juice and it was also delicious...very refreshing and tasty. We would absolutely return to try other things on their menu. ”
“ The food is amazing!! Even when compared to Toronto Thai restaurants, it meets the bar. Ordered the spring rolls and mango salad for appetizers which were delicious! The mango salad had crushed nuts and a great flavour variety from the mint and other spices. For mains, we had the Pad Thai and Drunken noodles. The Pad Thai was stellar, level 3 spice had me sweating!! Great flavour. The drunken noodles were okay, but still good flavours going on. Additionally, they brought my tea in an actual teapot which they left on the table, so I had about 5 teas worth!! Great value for the portion sizes and quality. Had plenty of leftovers. Would come again for sure! ”
